Where are the knifes made?

Every knife is crafted in Japan by different skilled blade smiths.

Is Japanese knife dishwasher safe?

No, Japanese knives boast a rich history that traces back to the 14th century, and ancient Japanese practices did not involve the use of dishwashers.

Can I use Japanese knife as a can opener?

No, using it will result in blade chipping, and the broken fragments can pose a safety risk.

Can I use Japanese knife to cut hard objects like frozen food?

No, it is not recommended to use a Japanese knife for cutting hard objects, as it may cause damage to the blade.

Will the knife rust?

Stainless steel is susceptible to rust if not handled properly. Refer to our steel type for rust resistance chart for detailed information. Always ensure to wipe the knife dry after each use.

How do I clean my knifes?

Gently clean with warm water whenever feasible, always wipe dry after use.

How do I sharpen my knife

Over time, a knife will naturally dull with regular use. For enhanced durability, we recommend referring to our guide on the steel type we use. The higher the durability of the steel, the less frequently the knife will require sharpening. We suggest using Japanese whetstones for sharpening, although diamond whetstones are also a popular choice.
