One-Piece Formed Carbon Steel Flat Pan 30cm

Unmatched in quality and durability, it’s truly a challenge to use it to the fullest!

West Japan Tools is a comprehensive tool brand crafted by Japanese artisans. Designed and developed by Takayuki Shibata (founder of the renowned knife brand “Masakage”), it seeks functional beauty and creates products that fulfill user needs.

Continuously collaborating with manufacturers, West Japan Tools strives to deliver perfect products that seamlessly integrate into users’ lives.

This 30cm carbon steel flat pan is a result of multiple tests and refinements by West Japan Tools. Both the handle and the pan are stamped from a single 3mm thick carbon steel sheet, then lathe-turned on both sides to thin them to 1.5mm, achieving the optimal balance between durability and weight. This construction ensures even heat distribution, making it particularly suitable for frying and sautéing. The handle’s design allows for convenient gripping with a towel.

Like typical carbon steel pans, simply allow the carbon steel to absorb a moderate amount of oil (seasoning), and a natural non-stick layer will form.

Carbon steel pans enhance the aroma of food more than regular pans.

For the initial use, wash and dry the flat pan. Add about 50ml of cooking oil, heat on medium-low for approximately 10 minutes, spreading the oil evenly over the surface. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat, pour out the oil, and wipe off the remaining oil with kitchen paper – seasoning is complete.

The pan’s surface will gradually turn golden-brown with use, becoming darker over time (indicating improved performance). After cooking, ensure it stays dry and use minimal dish soap.

If not in use for an extended period, lightly coat it with a layer of cooking oil. With proper care, this pan can last for several decades.

Suitable for both induction and oven use.

The intentionally shorter handle design allows easy placement in the oven.
